Hi All, this is my first post here so I would like to first introduce myself and then shamelessly thrown a question at you :D

Im Munz and have been coming here for quite some time, reading what people have to say and learning from others experiences. Im a newbie multimedia designer stillin training (more on visuals less on programming, starting on webdesign).

I do have a degree in multimedia design, not that it matters much these days, since it is a person's talent and individual insight that gives an image to an idea.

    now for the question :p

I basically wish to create a portfolio website which will showcase my work, which is images and videos, and maybe audio clips.

I do not want to go for a "normal" looking website, not that it shouldn't be easy to navigate but I want the users to feel that it is new or unsual. A visually dynamic website, not a newspaper on screen.

The ideas in my head keep on changing so I would like some guidance from you guys :)

I have been sugest Joomla/wordpress and use their modules and templates to create the portfoio site, but the more ideas are presented the better I suppose.

Once again, nice to meet you all.

    Munz.

Hi anands, yes I have been looking at that site for quite some time. I have not found the kind of style that I would like my portfolio in exactly. The websites are very static, I suppose what I imagine my future website to be is probably in flash?
Although I only know very basic flash.

I have found kadysz.com , and like how spacious this website looks, and have also found satwant.net/ , which is someone elses personal website. I am hoping to create an in between of the two, the dynamics of flash with the spaciousness of a simple yet effective website.

Look for some professional webdesigners and inspire yourself with their portfolio :)

Hi yes, I have been looking around and there are quite a few websites that look appealing, in particular:

    This one in Flash
    http://www.flashmint.com/show-template-2844.html

    and this Joomla template
    http://www.bestofjoomla.com/index2.php?option=com_bestoftemplate&task=demo&no_html=1&id=2211

    * sorry about the long URLs, linking is still unavailable to me :)

Hi just on a quick note, are the themes for wordpress / joomla fully editable?
in terms of choosing colour backgrounds etc.
I know it depends on the theme, but in case I would like to integrate features from other addons or change things like background colours of images?
