Hey everyone, I'm new to DP and I was hoping for someone to provide some guidance. I work on Odesk as a freelance writer, but I'm kinda looking to expand. A friend recommended DP for freelance writing. Could someone tell me how I can start selling services here? How can the required "likes"? Just educate me about the overall system of digital point. Hi Mashal, I'm new too! Well basically you firstly you just need to build a little bit of a presence on the site by posting in the forums that interest you and helping out when you can. Once you have received 3 likes from your posts and posted a few comments (25 I think) you then get more privileges and can like other people's posts and get full access to the forums. You can also then sell your services by posting in the 'Buy, Sell or Trade' sub-forums or Marketplace
@WillmingtonW...almost right, the 25 posts part no longer applies, you become established 48 hours after you register AND 3 different existing established members "Like" your posts.
Welcome to DP! Well the guys above me are already way ahead of me! lol Just wanted to welcome you and well tell you that you can also promote your services through blogging and SEO. You can really have people looking for your services instead of you looking for the people to offer you services. You want people to look for you instead of the other way around. A blog plus some basic SEO should do the work and you can literally have a lot of people contacting you to hire your services in a matter of couple of months if you apply simple things online. You have made the right decision to join DP - a forum where you will learn about marketing online. Use this information to get as much traffic as you need to your site. If you do not own a blog then you aren't serious about your business because a blog will be the heart of your business. Even offline businesses have a company blog today. Think about this Masha.... The BREAKTHROUGH you are seeking lies just beyond... frustration, hesitation, fear and justification. Most of the time our breakthrough is right after the uncomfortable work we try to avoid doing. Your success is right after the work you do not like to do. When we find ourselves putting off something we need to get done - we do not realize that the results you want will come right after you do those things. We know that doing certain things will get us the results we want but yet we find ourselves frustrated and stuck at doing nothing. Nothing about getting what we really want. We need to learn how to overcome those feelings and push ourselves to do what other hesitate doing. Do what others don't so you can have what other don't have. I hope this advice helps you work on your accomplishing your goals.
