I've been on the forum for a few days now but never really got around to posting here, but it seems quite an active sub-forum so what the hey? I'm a 20 year old second year student at the University of Salford in the UK studying Multimedia and Internet Technology. I'm also an events photographer specialising in nightlife. Where I'm from (Manchester, UK) I'm very well known amongst the club owners and promoters for my work who I got to know at a previous job. My big project is xoog.net, where I've combined my web design and photography talents together to create an entirely bespoke website. The site is growing fast and after only 6 weeks I'm getting 40,000 pageviews a day - At this rate of growth and expansion I'm expecting 150,000 pageviews per day by January. I've tried my fingers in freelance web design although it never really interested me - I like to design for myself (Plus I've found that mixing my unique combo of talents means more money and is a lot more fun) - If I were to be offered a high-paying webdesign job I'd accept, supposedly xoog.net is an adequate portfolio Doing what I do allows me to enjoy the VIP lifestyle - I never have to queue up, get £xxs of free drinks every week, and as I directly deal with other businesses I get the odd freebie. I love it I hate people who think that young age and being a student is bad. Its a challenge. At the age of 20 I'm teaching my lecturers who are paid £70,000+ pa new things... [Hope my not-so-little intro interested you]
Those are some excellent stats you have. I also agree with you on the unique combo of talents thing. I've got a good amount of knowledge in many different areas, and I believe its better to combine that, than to try and divvy up my skills

Age shouldn't matter, but remember we can all learn new things from each other no matter what our situation in life is. Welcome to DP...you're going to love it here!
