    Submission bots are programs made frequently by spammers to spam your site/forum by posting comments or articles.
    But they can not recognize the captcha and can not process the form, so can not spam you.
    The captcha can only recognize a human, so you are sure that the comment/article is posted by a human, not a bot.

    You are generally asked to enter numbers/alphabets as they are given in the picture.

    Captcha tries to verify that you are a human.

    Capatcha is more secure so spammers are hard to get thrue

    catcha is the image you see when you register for forums.
    It has letters and numbers.
