It is kind of hard to get into good affiliate networks. I would probably recommend cj.com if you can get in. It's usually a little less strenuous. I would definitely stay away from the "everyone is accepted" networks like Clickbank.
WHAT?! Clickbank is only the most trustworthy and easy to use affiliate network in the world! I made my first sale from affiliate marketing on clickbank and I haven't looked back since!
I see no problem with joining clickbank if you have never done affiliate marketing before. Like PHP Gator said- virtually everybody gets accepted. And the reason for that is because clickbank is noob-friendly. You can get signed up with them very quick and can start promoting any product in their marketplace right away. But clickbank is very limited with their products because the majority of the products are e-books and downloads. Other affiliate networks offer tangible products which might be better to promote than CB's products. You want to look for affiliate networks that have the products you want to promote. If you are interested in promoting a specific niche make sure they have vendors out there with the products that meet your criteria-free trial/adult networks/gambling networks etc... Hopefully this helps with the decision making process and good luck with your marketing campaign!!! Most affiliate networks want to verify with their affiliates that you are indeed a real person. They want to verify contact information, they want to see your blog/website that you will be using to promote products, they want to know how you will promote products. If you are really concerned about getting accepted into affiliate networks get on the phone and talk with an affiliate manager. They will appreciate that and will greatly increase your chances of getting accpeted.
Signing up is easy and it doesn't really matter where you start as long as you start! - finding a good product is more time intense. cb has them definitely!
clickbank is the best affiliate network the conversions are great the only problem is that they only have low priced products in their catalog. They do not allow big ticket items. But if you are a newbie it is a great place to start.

So far I've joined only clickbank (but I'm promoting many aff programs on the adult site). It seems OK, but like the others said it's pretty limited to e-book and similar offers.
I am quite new myself, and yes I agree, Clickbank is very easy to promote. I have heard a lot of people say that they do make out better with physical products, like Amazon. I was kinda using Clickbank as a learning project before I started with physical products
Clickbank and E-Junkie are currently the two I'm testing. It appears very user friendly and the interface to build "hop links" is also extremely simple. Just put your website online and sign up for an account - what's the worst that happens?
There does seem to be a bit more 'quality control' on CJ as the companies you would be promoting offers for can approve/reject your request to be an affiliate for them. Also, I agree with the point made earlier about its easier to promote tangible products as opposed to ebooks, etc - but that is probably not a hard and fast rule.
The top 3 are definitely Amazon, Clickbank & Commission Junction - at least in my book. I think most people would agree. just make sure you read the TOS on any affiliate network you join, it's crucial so you don't get boned later.
While Most of the people knows That Clickbank is The Most Trustworthy Affiliate network .. but it Doesnt Depends only On The Affiliate network. making a Sale is An Easy stuff now.
