Hey, my names Alex and i have just joined clickbank. I have been looking around for some good techniques to promote products and figured id come to you guys for help. I bought a domain yesterday, makeloadsonline.com which redirects to my clickbank hop for maverick money makers. I now plan on spreading the domain to get people to buy there products. I have php experience, so not a noob to computers, but im definately a noob to making money online with clickbank and other affiliate schemes. Im looking to make around 500 dollars a month, still in education currently so i don't need thousands, but they would be nice Please can someone tell me where im going wrong if i am, and how to promote this product to make around 500$ a month. I know its possible i just need the help of some kind dp members. Thanks alot, Alex
Hi Alex I'm in the same boat - kind of. Been making a bit of adsense money over the last year, but now want to make some REAL money from affiliate. From what I have read on DP, having a landing page is essential, it will increase your PPC quality score (reducing your ad costs) and can help to "pre-sell" the product which means warm up the buyer and get them into the buying mood, so when they click your hoplink they are more likely to buy. This is the strategy I am planning to make a few $ hopefully soon. Hope that helps.
And so the cycle continues... ... I say you're chewed up and spit out of the industry within 3 months. Not trying to be rude, but will be real with you - You have NO experience in 'make-money-online', but you're about to jump into selling marketing strategies to marketers, CB marketers at that. The most competitive, shadiest, and hardest niche for the seasoned marketing veteran, should never be attempted by a noob (unless you go into it KNOWING you're going to get your ass handed to you, lose some money, and a few months learning to chase your tail - call it bootcamp). Chances are within a few months you'll think "I'm going to launch my own money ebook" - please don't! Rather than thinking like the 10,001 other marketers here, be different dude. Go after a niche that is NOT aimed at marketers (until you can honestly call yourself an intermediate marketer in our world), look for stuff that interests YOU, that is aimed at the joe schmoe customer who doesn't have a clue or care what AM is, he just wants his product/solution/service. This applies to all you noobs, don't enter the industry thinking you know enough to sell MMO products, you'll get eaten alive quick and just act as an awareness campaign for a vendor most times without converting squat. PS - that product is now rather old, might want to revisit your niche to look at newer gems or upcoming launches instead.
NCMedia - good point. I am a noob too and I wouldn't dare to promote making money online books. My adsense money has been made in niches that would bore the socks off most people, and thats how I intend to make my affiliate money too
MC Adsense? No matter how boring the niches, it sounds like you have quite a bit of traffic under you to be able to monetize adsense in any mid-big level. Dude, today, like NOW - go through your sites, no matter how boring or quirky the niche, and go through the CB marketplace. Find products that match your traffic/demographic well, and replace your adsense with CB hoplinks/banners. I can almost guarantee the same day you do this, will be the same day you make WAY more with your sites than you ever will with adsense (only exception would be if your sites get nothing but JUNK foreign traffic - in that case keep the adsense - otherwise start profiling your traffic demographics and split testing which products/services convert best).
So, what sort of a product do you guys reccomend. And how should i market it? Is weightloss products old news, or worth trying to make money from?
I have more tips than even NCMEDIA has given you 'in this thread'. Hey NC, don't be angry over this. Just click "Find all posts my Ncmedia". And you can read all of his informative posts, not just these. (You can do this for every 'informative' member) And Yes, he does invite people to join his forum many times. You may do it but you need not, as there is already a lot more information to be found here on this forum. You will also find other forums like Link development & SEO very helpful for learning how to get organic traffic.
NCMedia yes I am in the process of doing this. I am not making great money from adsense. The $ per 1000 impressions is good, but the traffic levels are relatively low (100uniques/day per site). The sites were created this year though so there could be some sandbox effect. I'm trying to monitise better. There is one revenue stream (direct, not via affiliate) that monitised brilliantly but it was a bit too "black hat" for me, so I canned it. I feel as though I could montise the niches well if I create a bespoke product. It's hard to find a good fit on clickbank for them. Clickbank has apples, and my people want oranges! If I can get to 1000/day uniques I may start creating products specifically for the site, and then if successful get affiliate in to help me sell wider.
So, what sort of a product do you guys reccomend. And how should i market it? Is weightloss products old news, or worth trying to make money from?
Everyone has his own opinion but i won't recommend you to promote any weight loss product. I mean, there is a lot of money to be made in this niche but there are way too many products and affiliates promoting them so it will be difficult for you to get something to rank well. On the other hand, if you try something that has a lower number of affiliates promoting it (lower gravity), there are more chances that you will be able to get more traffic and sales. If you are a fan of youtube, try out a niche for which people search for information on youtube. There are a ton of other ways to get traffic. All the info is here on DP itself. Just use the search function or look through the posts made by members. There are many informative threads buried in every forum section at DP.. Good Luck..
Everyone says it, so it sounds like a crap cliche but you need to start with what you know. You don't know how to make money online, so why start there? Know what I mean? The reason you start with what you know is because identifying, and understanding what your customer needs to hear to make a purchase is key to getting sales. If you know what someone's concerns are. You know what their biggest question is, what they need to hear right now to make a purchase. All you have to do is answer that concern and you got a sale. It's really that simple. Get inside your customers head. You know about computers, so you should know the primary concerns with computer problems. You know the biggest headaches, more importantly when you're selling to comp savy programmers you know the language, terminology and slang they use. That's insider information. That's your edge and how you get sales. Speak your customers language, connect with their problem then show them the solution. Best of luck.
How do you plan 'spreading' the domain? You can't 'redirect' (forward) a domain if you're using AdWords. (Not that many could afford ads in this niche anyway.) You may as well spread the HopLink in articles and eliminate a step. John
So .. you don't know how to make money .. but will promote this product to other people that want to make money .. in order for you to make money .. Did I get that right ???? Anyway .. leaving that aside ... why don't actually learn how to drive traffic first .. how to convert it into a couple of sales / or adsense clicks .. make your experience a report, offer it as a freebie in exchange for people to join your mailing list (aweber/getresponse) and than promote maverick money .. If you keep your eye focused on the $500 a month .. well .. that doesn't leave you much room to learn anything now does it. Get a job .. make marketing online your second job .. and when the money you make as an internet entrepreneur >= the money you make in your regular job, quit it and focus exclusively on making it better. A lot of people will tell you there are shortcuts .. just because they want to sell you something. Well .. there aren't .. there's loads of work and sweat and blood .. or loads of money invested .. sometimes both.
I have now made the website into a blog which i will be developing. Need to work out how to get my adsense stuff on here.
Adsense is the worst business model when you can earn ten times more selling a product. Asides from that I doubt it's that easy to have 3K - 5K adsense checks every month. Affiliate marketing is manageable at that level with one or two years of work/experience.
I have 12 years of SEO experience and I'm owning several great domains. One of them is MoneyOnline.net. I plan to Search Engine Optimize it - but I have not gotten the necessary time yet. At the moment I have more than enough on other sites - but I plan to try out affiliate marketing on this one after a while Waiting for the traffic numbers to grow.
If you really want to exceed at affiliate marketing then the "make money online" crowd is the last people you want to target. You are going to be competing with people who have huge campaign budgets, and can afford to pay thousands each week to outsource work to increase the productivity of their business. My advice to you Alex is to pick a product on clickbank that has absolutely nothing to do with making money online. Promote something that people desperately want a solution to. Finding a hungry crowd (To quote Travis Sago) is a key element to making affiliate sales. I am not saying that you cannot make money in competitive markets, but really you need to start out in niche markets, because you will be able to make more money because of less competition. Just browse around clickbank in the "home and family" category or "sports and recreaction." by doing this you should be able to find some clickbank products that you can write articles, conduct PPC campaigns, and build email lists in these niches in order to make more $$$ faster. $500 a month is not far away, Simply find a product paying $30 per sale that converts at 2%. Now you will have to test this, and make sure that you have a good presell page before sending the visitor to the sales page. The bottom line is that if you have a 2% conversion rate and get $30 per sale, then you will make 60 cents per visitor. Only 1,000 visitors to your salespage a month and you have made $600. Hope this helps, just a little info to help out a newbie.
That is really some inspiring information for newbies & everyone alike. Great, just think of getting 1,000 targeted visitors a month & watch the money rolling in. +Rep to you.
