    Hi guys:)

Well, this for u guys that have a biz already setup like below and know the answer.

Q1. I was wondering, Do you need to get a "Seller's permit" if u start up a site or or some sites that sell memberships into them and the members will gain access to Plr files?

    (2. For the guys here that run this type of thing, do u guys have a seller's permit for this?)

(It's all digital downloads so not tangable right?)

    3. Also do u guys need to charge Tax on each sale?
(I thought it was not necessary since downloaded and
    not tangable.)

    4. If necessary to get one, what do u say to the people that issue the Seller's permit if u plan on setting up some sites like this? Meaning running a few of these sites and calling it your business.

(*That u setup sites like this for yourself and market them for yourself and that is what your business "Does or is".)

    Well...
**Please only reply if u know. I've researched already, but confused about the subject. I would like to know from actual people here. I'm interested in this and need your guidance. I'd like to learn from u entrenpreneurs:)

    Please help guys:)

Thank you to all that reply:)

Most states do not have/do not enforce Internet Commerce requirements for a business license.

Marketing off line is a whole new ball of wax.

If you're still in doubt, call your count clerk's office, and ask if a business license is needed to operate a 100% online business. I'm betting the answer is "no".

    Hey guys:)

Thanks for the advice. Do any of u guys running this type of business setup have any information on this? This is for businesses in CA. And for a resale/"Seller's permit". I believe "business" license is different. Seller's permit is for tangable stuff like furniture etc. But i would like to know the info for the questions above based on the info above and what u guys are using/doing for PLR sites. Again this is for Ca. Please help.

    Thanks again guys:)

Just being a member to a site doesn't mean you get to repackage, and resell the material. You get a limited personal use for your membership, and most sites will tell you this.

If they find you reselling, you will get hit with C&D.

    Hi barefootsies:)
Yeah there are some sites that will not allow you to sell there stuff. But there are some that do allow you to do it. They state it and that's there way to get the potential member to sign up with them.

**Well...Still need the information for my above questions. Is the seller's permit needed to operate a business like the above mentioned information?(membership) This is based on the laws that states have as far as selling stuff. I think "files" are not tangable and thus not taxable and don't need a sellers permit to sell. Am i right?

**Do u guys have a seller's permit or resale license from the state u are in to operate a membership site that provides files for members?

    Please help guys:)

    Thanks everyone:)

Unless you're making A LOT of money, you don't really need any licenses.

    Hi Remotay:)

I just want to certain of what i need to start the membership biz up.
If i start a business up, licenses/permits/zoning etc are necessary
even online. So i had to get some. But still need other permits possibly.

I don't want to startup and then later find out i need one to sell files. I don't think i need a Seller's permit for this type of business, that's why i wanted to know if you guys have one already for this type of biz. Information for Ca.

You guys don't have to say u have a membership site, but it would be nice if u guys said whether or not it's necessary for a membership biz providing plr "files" to have a seller's pemit/resale license from the state. Laws state that you need one when selling stuff, but not certain about this type of biz. Because it's not tangable.(files only downloaded.) (seller's permit/resale license are both the same thing i think. Different terms used on the net.)

    Any info guys?
    Thanks again fellas:)

I DO have membership site(s). Been doing them for years. I have had members contact me asking about your question on "how they can use them", which was why I had answered.

Oh. But do people in Ca need a seller's permit to operate this sort of business? (I just got some paperwork and getting zoning permit etc.)
Planning on doing internet marketing....setting up a some sites with products etc. And also a membership site. I asked a auditor and they said No i don't need one based on what i told them since it's transmitted over the internet/downloaded and not tangable. But they said it's their opinion. And not there fault basicly if they are wrong.
I plan on buying plr from sites that allow u to do whatever u want with their plr files.

**Barefootisies, do u have a seller's permit issued to you from the state your in for the membership sites?

    Well....I hope you answer.

    Thanks again guys:)
