Do what m_wc said. You can also look for SEO forums to chat on. Whitehat and Blackhat forums are out there. You just have to look them up. If you are wanting to meet them in person. I would post fliers up at local coffee shops and places that people can connect to the internet at.

Why not carry out some research on SEO agencies and give them a call? Personally, I get several emails every day from "link-builders" looking to work with me. NONE of them get a reply. However, if one of them made the effort to look my telephone number up (not hard to find) and gave me a call, I would be far more inclined to do business with them. In summary: Don't send spammy emails to people requesting work. You say you are professional so be professional, do your homework and give them a call.
