im very new to the seo part of recieving targetted traffic although im slowly learning how it works.. my questions is that is it ok to have 2 forum signature links linking to the sme website, for example lets say this was in my sig, Bodybuilding Secrets, Top Ten Supplements and both linking to different pages on my website.. reason i ask this is becuase i think i read somewhere (maybe on this website) that google will only index one of those pages or something like that, if anyone knows the answer please feel free to help out, thanks
Your link in your forum should be what your anchor text wants to be. If you want your anchor text to be "Bodybuilding" have it like that. If you want it to be something else, do that. No reason to have the same link show up with two different anchor texts
there is absolutely no problem in having 2 sig links pointing to 1 URL...it dsnt relate any where to Google indexing BTW ur sig link is showing "Internal Server Error"
no thats not what i meant... wat i meant was see how in my signature now.. there are 2 links pointing back to the same website... i heard or read something that it isnt a good idea.. becuase google will only use one of the links when it comes SEO.. i dont know its hard to explain, but do you guys see any disadvantages of how my forum signature is in relation to Search engine rankings? and page rank thanks i will rep helpful answers
even 3-4 links are OK all with different keywords as anchor text...but it depends on no. of post u do in a day...if ur site is new and u post 10 posts per day with 3-4 links...i.e 900-1200 links per month for new site from same source...of course not natural! sig links for search engine rankings...umm...hard to say but still any thing with keyword in anchor text only helps...but the gr8 no. will do better(of course with natural speed) for pagerank I dnt think it can help much coz thread pages , they all hav very low or no pagerank...plus there are always too many out bound links on them! and dont get confused with 2 sig links and 2 urls pointing to same site...2 sig links are 2 backlinks and 2nd case means 2 different urls with same content that deserves the Google de-indexing of 1 of the 2 pages(also causes pagerank split if no redirection used from 1 to other)

There is no harm in having more than one link in your signature pointing to different pages on your same site. But as already suggested by a member earlier, if you are a very active poster, the number of links originating from the same source would dramatically increase, making your whole effort look a little suspicious.
