Yes Google Analytic is a great tool but you'll have to do some inputs and what not, just type in your site at alexa.com while going through the Google process. Enjoy.
You need to install tracking code to your website pages and use free visitor counter services like Google analytics, Statcounter you'll need to setup a account first and then install the code after that you'll be able to track your visitor details. Also if your hosting provider has enabled Awstats then you can see the stats VIA your hosting CPanel.
