This won't placate them at all because it's not the point. The problem is that it is 1) installed by default and 2) it does not function effectively with web standards causing problems for 3rd parties.
Also, this is not a Microsoft sanctioned method either. MS has not published it anywhere and we don't even know if it will still work when the final edition comes out. This guy just happened to find a way to do it. iow, it's a hack.
