Yeaaaaa teach me advanced Turkish! Basically all I know are the rude words...it's all the lovely Turkish people like to teach me heh.

Yup, Turkey really is paradise. Best place I've ever been and I've been to quite a few places! Nothing beats it, I especially love Kusadasi, Pammukale and Bodrum. But mainly it's the Turkish people I love so much...you will find no other race of people that are so nice, kind, sweet and welcomming. It's unbelievable..

I'm hoping to goto Istanbul later this year, It looks amazing, so cultural and full of brilliant historic things to see. It's definately on my list of places to visit as soon as possible - along with Cappadocia, Nemrut Dagi and Olu Deniz. :)

Yeah Turkey is evolving, trying to join EU Union, making reforms, etc. And I think DP is another point that shows this evolution. :D

Disclaimer: I only have experience with tourist regions in Turkey

I spend 14 days in Turkey this summer, more specific just outside Alanya, and you'd have to pay me to go back.

I felt like a fox begin hunted by a pack of wolves when I walked on the streets, it was impossible to take 2 steps without a pack of salesmen forming around you trying to get you to buy their fake D&G or Diesel t-shirts. I avioded going into shops because it was impossible to just browse around without almost feeling forced to buy some of their goods. Yes - a caring salesman is good, but these guys scared me away.

On a positive note, the cleaning lady at our hotel was extraordinary nice.

For Turkeys sake I hope it's better in non-tourist regions, but me personally - I'll never come back.

Lol, Thanks Edz. I don't really speak Turkish that well, but I'm trying my hardest to learn it.

Wow, I can't believe you'd never go back. I know many people find the constant hard sale annoying, but not enough to put them off going back. For me the good in Turkey far outweights the bad. Although saying that...the tourist areas are now slowly becoming like Spain. It is getting built up with hotels and it's full of drunken Irish and English.

I've been to Kusadasi, Pamukkale & Bodrum and believe me, if you are a female in Turkey it is much worse LOL. They try everything to get you to buy stuff, they call you Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, try all the chat up lines known to mankind...but I found that a simple 'No Thank you' will make them leave you alone.

Anyways they are just doing their job... I love Turkish people. I have never found such an overall lovely nationality of people, they are so welcomming and just great.

I hope you do go back one day because there are actually alot of positive sides to Turkey, other than the tourist areas. It is so rich in history and dripping in Culture. Most definately my favorite place ever.

Sorry you had such a bad experience.

No need to be sorry, maybe I should just stay home - when I went to Sweden I got robben and beaten the first day.

    I liked Spain though :)
