Hewlett-Packard Server Technician Question

    I've got a rather strange pair of questions.

    I have a client who is interested in purchasing an HP Proliant server. The server quoted comes with a 3-year H/W warranty, with 4 hours response time.

    The quote seems reasonable enough for what it is, but I have two questions:

    1) Do they have warranties that cover software? If not, I can deal with it myself, but I'd really prefer not to.

    2) How good are their techs? Do they actually have a clue? Like if I ask them a question, will they have the answer or will they be like IBM and not understand a word I'm saying?
