It wouldn't be that surprising if someone claiming to be religious did this, but I'm not entirely convinced this story is even true. I've found it on YouTube, and websites that have little credibility, and it seems to be originating from a post on Topix forums. Searching in Google news, there are a lot of recent articles about Burn a Quran Day, but none mentioning he was arrested. Does anyone have a credible news source for this?

p.s. - In addition, I believe the pastor for Burn a Quran Day is Terry Jones, not Terry Johnson as you have listed.

i agree it originates on topix, thats what nbc used, but the man has never come out and said its not true, hes propably in jail now and cant come out to defend himself.

 

I didn't find the report, but if it was there and gone now, could it be they realized the story wasn't true? So far, I'm just finding it on crappy sites, like this one. The church is Dove World Outreach, with regular updates on the site and no mention of any arrest. Actually, if this were true the media would eat this up and it would be all over. No offense, but until there is actual credible evidence, I think I'll just assume this is propaganda from Muslims with an axe to grind.

if it is not, then no news channel can ever be trusted, why do they accept news from forums in the first place, this shows the news is corrupted and biased.

I shall apologise for using NBC news, in the future I will try to never use a news channel ever again, I believe all are unreliable. In the past, we would see something on the news and see this as true, now this is no longer the case. I also apologise for being too hasty and claiming it is true, I confess that I don't know if its true.

He should come out and deny this, that will prove he is not locked up in jail, the more silence from him, the more questioning.

Jones probably hasn't even heard of this. Some Muslim put it up and told a bunch of other Muslims. NBC took it down when they noticed it. It's a tempest in a teapot. Moreover, if he did deny it, no Islamist would believe him anyway.

It amazes me that this sort of stupidity actually works in the Muslim world. I guess some people will believe anything. Hell, some Muslims still don't believe that Al Qaeda was responsible for 9/11.
