Here's Why a HORSE (Yes, a horse) can be More Successful than YOU

OK, so you want to know why a horse is more successful than you?

    Well - here it is:

    They put their blinkers on!

...These things only let the horse see the finish line (their end result).

It cuts off all distractions. Only allowing them to look where they want to go.

When the horse has these blinkers on; they remove all distractions.

So, what you need to do is keep an eye on where you want to go (i.e. your dream lifestyle etc), and remove all distractions.

Stop listening to those people who tell you that you "can't" achieve your goal.

Stop wasting your time doing pointless tasks.

Put your blinkers on, and ONLY focus on your end destination.

...I hope that this bring some sort of an "ah-ha" moment for you.

I would love to hear your thoughts :)
    Tom

Uuhh... actually the horse cannot put on his own blinkers. Also, it is actually not him that decides where he is going. And yeah, I know it's a metaphor. :p

I'd love to have someone put "blinkers" on me occasionally. "Oh, you're wasting time on Tumblr? BACK TO WORK!"
    But... alas... self-employment... :( ahahaha

hehe.. isn't that an eternal dilemma? I mean even before work life begins, till we are with our parents, we would go ballistic every time they pronounce the "Don't do this" tags. Once we are away, the initial exhilaration soon turns into desperate, "I wish someone had asked me to sleep early yesterday" and stuff. I had a roomie once who was the epitome of this situation. Every night, before sleeping, he would practically start a chorus, "Please-please please wake me at 6.00 tomorrow morning. Please". When I attempted doing that, my morning would start with some brilliant abuses! He would of course follow them up with apologies and the same chorus at night, setting a incredible circle in motion. What really delighted me in this misery was that he was sincere during both the instances! :p

If you are going to put your blinkers on you need to know where you are going. This is the problem most of the time.

Great analogy! Thank you, and focus is the keyword here. Discipline and purpose also helps, too.
