I see a lot of don't think and don't care here! This sounds more like how to scam your traffic and make money off them instead of, how to earn the trust of your traffic and be helpful to them by offering something they can use and it's useful.

I think some of the A list bloggers wrote "I would never recommend my readers something I haven't personally tried and it's not good for them"! And what do we do here? Look for what people are desperate, blog on something not only we are not passionate about but we don't care and finally direct them to a squeeze page!

A good company or website would have to be trusted in the long run to keep on making money. Just compare old companies we know now days, with some new ones that promise you everything, they are hype for 2-3 years or less then they vanish!

If you feel like you are lying to your visitors, then you probably are!

The point of looking for someone who is desperate is not to scam them but because it's an easier sell. Who says that the Magic of Making Up book for example doesn't really help the person out? If it were that bad of a product the refund rate would be extremely high and from what I know it's not.

As they say, it's easy to sell water to someone in a desert and that's what the aim of your marketing should be. If I was thirsty as hell in a desert, the person selling me the water would be doing me a huge favor not scamming me.

As far as the "lying to your visitors" thing, some of the biggest companies in the world lie to their customers every day and people still buy from them. Look for example at how McDonalds and all these fast food places try to advertise that their food is "healthy" because it's 100% real beef or w.e the hell it is they claim now. We all know it's still horrible for you no matter what the commercial says.

If I only tried to sell things I was passionate about, I'd be out of business because I can't control that entire market and that's why people branch out into other markets that they may not know or care about but they can research it.

 

See in this cause water would be a valuable thing! It's not the same as me meeting you in the desert and saying hey here's the Oasis, 10$ buck to get in, and when u get in, it turns out to be something different than what you expected!

Anyways my point was that all of the sites with squeeze pages look the same and have 1 sole purpose of making money not give u valuable info or products, or at least that's how I see it

 

Yeah I know what you mean but I don't think that the OP of this thread meant it in that way of "here's the oasis" and sending them to something different. He was just saying to find a desperate niche and find something to sell to them that actually helps them. The desperation part is just to make it an easier sale.

There are a lot of scammy people and squeeze pages out there though that's for sure and yes those people probably won't make it very far.

Also while I kno squeeze pages are scammy looking, you always have a high quality content page with an opt-in form that isn't too in your face

I have to say that this IS a proven business model and will convert better than just a sales page alone in my experience.

If you want to Levage the method up then you create free opt in reports ON YOUR SALES PAGE, and/or follow up the Sales Page with a higher prices back end product.
