Sorry about the link Cleanlava. I guess it does look like free advertising. I was just trying to help.

My main point I was trying to get across is that I think the ad integration works best when it is built into your content. The box ads (ie - 250x250, etc) seem to perform tens times better than the banner-like size ads for me. Maybe it is because people have been bombarded with banner-size ads for so long they ignore that more? I don't know. But I would recommend trying some box ads with your content wrapping around it.

I dunno, but I get a 20% CTR on most of my keywords, and these are simply the text-based ads. I think people ignore the banner ads because they have seen them far too much over the past years...

I tried the red and yellow thing on a couple of sites - the first day one of them doubled its CTR - but ever since its been normal. It could have doubled that day for other reasons however - so I'm not sure its really much use. Those that it doesn't attract will probably just get angry at blatant advertising on their site. You win some and you lose some.

I see a few keywords on that list that I wouldn't expect to go for much. I was expecting search engine optimization to go for around $10, but its 3 times that much. Maybe I'm out of the loop. Great list though.

Many of the "top paying" keywords lists are based on the "google" price. The "content ads" price is likely to be way way lower.

If an advertiser is paying $30 a click he can probably afford to have someone managing his Adwords account and those guys know NOT to bid high on content ads to avoid possible fraud.

I dont manage accounts at that level but I DO have a few who bid $2+ on google but only $0.02 in content for the same keyword.

I've read it somewhere but cant remember where now ... red and yellow is the best colour combination of all. It instantly grabs your attention! That's why McDonalds is so popular - you almost never miss their ads :)
