I think the top paying keywords is hysterical. Two themes there - mortgages and gambling - ya gotta take out one to participate in the other. LOL. Must be lots of gamblers out there - I wonder if this has spawned lots of gamblers anonymous places.

yes, the demographic for gamblers who take out mortgages to gamble must be an extremely coveted demographic.

Not too well. I told you before, people hate to click ads on my site. Maybe because most of the visitors is a teenager or the ads that appear on my site is not relevant with the content of my site

Anyone here have a tips on how to increase a CTR?

    what I did was this:

make different color schemes, give each one a descriptive channel, and made them all rotate randomly. I then took the most successful one and use that one exclusively.

it didn't have a huge impact, but I'd say it increased the CTR by 50% easily (although it's still pitifully low).

are you just trying minor variations in color? try taking some radically different ones if you want- even uplift the color ideas from other sites and modify them to your needs.

if you're still not seeing ANY chance in CTR, then maybe there's not much you can do.

try using a different ad format, or place it differently?

    Hi Alang,

I was curious how your experiment worked out. I've tried changing colors but haven't seen a ton of difference. I've had more luck with changing placement than anything.

I think placement matters first. Make it look like partof your site works great. Same text color and no border is great for me. If your text is centered, center the adsense, if its not, don't.

What also helps CTR is if you use the search term on your title and description of your ad.

That's true, it's all about positioning.

I have ads on my first page, a huge block with 4 ads. No use for them, low CTR. In my inner-pages I have a blue table with an image under it, and in the blue table there is adsense with no borders at all, just text in white (you can't even see it is a link...) and the CTR is high and steady (but, for noobs, I don't make $5000 a year or am a member of the FedEx club).

    Check it out... http://www.sprinttotal.com/noticias.php

About 47% of my revenue comes from that channel.

I've found that placing my ads along side of the main content of a page (to the right of the content) works best for me. I have the ads background match the background of the page, and the links match the theme of the links on all my pages.

When you read the content of the page, your eyes go from left to right and tend to keep going at the end of each line and run right into the ads.

    See below for an example:

    Hope this helps!
