    Are you having alot of spam comments on your blog? do you see alot of viagra sites showing up in comments? If your answer is yes then i suggest you read on for the right solution to fight this.

    yeah i'm daily having 5 to 6 comments about viagra .Do'h why people are doing this if they know we don't wanna go approve Them These kind of stupid comments ?

    i think they submit to a database of thousends of blogs, and just hope there are a few auto aproval blogs.

    I used to face this problem when the comments were auto approved. After that I changed the settings and atleast there are no spam comments on the blog but my mailbox gets full of "moderate the comment" mails.

    most of them use crap robots to submit, with a list of 'precanned' comments - easy to spot. The more advanced ones try to post something based on the context. The very advanced ones post using AI techniques, and the only way you'll tell it isn't a real comment is by the spammy link they're pushing. Some use redirects on what appear to be sensible domain, then after a day or 2 flip it over to the real destination - i.e. AFTER you've approved the comment and checked their link.

    This could be a backhanded compliment. Maybe they are using human spammers because your forum is a high traffic site.

    I'm using the Akismet plugin on my Wordpress blog and it blocks all those spam comments easily.
