or maybe it isn't, but I have never heard it explained. I ran a search through google for link:newcomputer.ca. It returned zero results. I then ran a search for link: newcomputer.ca and voila! there were 48 links. What difference would the space make?

Your second query would be searching for pages with "newcomputer.ca" within it. Your first query will show links to it with PR4(ish) or higher.

haha, so not that interesting then (except to me). Are both returns only those with PR4?

So a space can make a difference. On the first one, is it searching for "link:" and "space", as search criteria? The second is the real one then for looking for backlinks.

no spaces for backlinks, with space it is just like any other search you do where the space means OR .

I saw today that when you click in the SERPs [ More results from www.domain.co.uk ]

It actually does the search ' site:www.domain.co.uk' with a space in front of the word site:

I had a look to see whether the leading space made a difference but no... Looks like Google can make mistakes too at times.

    1,473 compared to 143 - I sure wish the 1,473 were PR4 and higher!

I can feel a find links day coming up!
