    Advertising (learn more)

Advertise virtually anything here, with CPM banner ads, CPM email ads and CPC contextual links. You can target relevant areas of the site and show ads based on geographical location of the user if you wish.

Starts at just $1 per CPM or $0.10 per CPC.

Here is a free list of good free advertising sites I got from yahoo answers.

Nice, thanks. But do all of them works? I think most free-ad groups only have few viewers.

Hey Ckrismoney, that's a neat way to get your own site at the top of the list. 9.9999/10 for your idea.. Was it you who asked on Yahoo Answers in the question in the first place ?

I found nice free advertising site called listPage.net. It's 100% free to post ads there and it's very simple to search the ads too. I like it because it's simple and clean. You can post or search for stuff locally. I sold and few items on listPage without any problems. I also bought a Nintendo Wii on listPage for only $150 just in time for Xmas. Check it out at http://www.listpage.net

I've taken this list and have been submitting ads to the sites; once I get some real data back I'll post on DP what I found. (I'm putting links to an eBay site of mine with special tracking codes for each ads site.)

So far I've only done about 6-7 sites (it takes forever to register at all these!) and have found virtually no traffic, though some have had page loads. Some of the sites have problems, and one deleted my ad but I don't know why.

Anyway once I do several more, I'll post the results here.

I don't think they are all free. The Economist.com is definitely not free. Anyway just try it - and you'd find you mail box full of spam once sign up.

That's the one that deleted my ad. Any idea why? They didn't say.

BTW, is that some kind of Web 2.0 social thing? I know Craigslist also cancels ads but doesn't explain why (they're particularly bad - they pretend the ad is actually live; it takes some research to find out it in fact is visible only to you). Someone on DP once told me it's better for business (or some such BS) to not tell people why they are violating TOC. I don't get it. If something isn't allowed, why don't they just say so? Why all the secrecy?

I hate when craigslist does that!

But they still get page views when you search for your ads.

This list is a great start. But some of the sites are much better than others. I'd love to see an updated version ranked by traffic, PR, etc. Maybe with some comments added. Anyone??

Quite a good list compiled... I was aware of most of them but some of them are new to me ;-)

I think we should create a thread with everybody stating the most popular classified site in their town/region/country. I bet many hear would find this very useful.
