    Hi guys,
I'm here already for a while, not posting any suggestions since I don't think that I'll be helpful yet.
My prob is that I try to read as much as I can about SEO, but still the site that I'm trying to promote (www.shaislighting.com is still not getting very good results, it use to be better 2 months ago, but lately it slowed down.
I think that my main problem is to get links, the guy that I did the website for does not keen on linking out, I know that if you want something, you have to give something.
    Any suggestions ?
Be brutal, I need to know how bad I'm in SEM. :(
Also, what is the price range that needs to be charged for SEM, I don't want to rip off anybody, but in the same token I don't want to be taken advantage of ?
    Thank you in advance.
    Jack
    BTW - Great forums.

the site itself is not a bad idea, that animation just at the front is very annoying and will drive most of your visitors away.

maybe slowing down the animation will make it more soothing without putting in more effort....

    Here's my opinion:

Change you menu to text instead of images. If it's text, don't use images since :
1-text as text looks better than images
2-any image, no matter how optimized, is heavier than text.
3-text is better than images with SE

Use title attributes in your menu href tags, in this case title="outdoor lightning", title="indoor lightning", etc. And use title attributes on all your links, and optimized them.

Use common words to describe your items. Do you know what a dto3894534nr is? Me neither, even if I've watched Star Wars many times. :p So how do you expect me to know what a b6ric is? (I know, your client says all his regular clients know what it is, but his site is not for the people that call him by his 1st name and never have to visit his website 'cause they watch NFL football together every Sunday pm.) :D

Question : Is "about us" that important to deserve to be your 2nd menu item? Usually, it's the last menu item on the right. (I know, you client loves to talk about how great he is, but move it anyway.) No one really cares about who you are, they want to know what you have to offer. Then, if they're not sure how credible you are, they'll visit your "about us" page before buying.

Improve the site's usability, it can't hurt with SEO.

    Good luck,

Yeah, that animation is irritating, IMHO.
