Hemorrhaging Backlinks

    I check my backlinks with Yahoo Site Explorer and over the past 4-5 days I have lost some 600 backlinks. Now, I know this is not uncommon, particularly with links from Directories, but 600 in 4-5 days. Many might be blog comments etc that have disappeared, that is probably what it is, but just wondering if anyone else has noticed this with Yahoo Site Explorer?

    Yahoo site explorer always gives unreliable backlink numbers. They pick-up all backlinks including no follow backlinks. I probably wouldn't worry too much about it.

    Check Google link:yourdomainname.com , that's the one that really matters.

    Not this gets even odder. Since posting this yesterday, according to yahoo site explorer, I have lost 1000 backlinks and they list 6 fewer pages. I seriously question the accuracy of this tool.
