hi, i need some advice..i am designing a website in dreamweaver but i dont know css so i am using layers (ap div)to design website..i dont know how to insert the div tag anywhere i want thats why i am using layers as with layers i can insert it anywhere on the page..are layers compatible in all borwsers..please guide
I'm not sure what you are trying to convey. However it doesn't matter what tool/software you use to create your website. The important is to know HTML and it's tag and use. CSS is used to style the tags and we change the design aesthetic. A good start is going through http://www.w3schools.com/
I know what you mean. Layer is actually a div tag. But if you design in Design View, the layer will have index-z to overlap each other. To insert the div tag anywhere, just split the view between Design View and Code view and click on the design view where you want to insert your div and then the area will be highlighted in Code view and now you can insert the div into the Code View.
You should not use AP Div anywhere in the document. Best way you should understand the layout structures (Box Model). Please refer some sites on internet like w3schools.com. You will understand how to use divs in the document.
I don't know why you've said that . Is it because you're a weak designer or because you hope that people would use your two bit webdesign service ? Dreamweaver is by miles the best editor available . It has great capabilities and it is quite easy to use .As for HTML/CSS they are extremely easy to learn . In fact both "languages" can be learned at a professional level in a week . So "the learning process" for HTML/CSS is more of a myth .
Both langauge? ... Hope that referes CSS is not a programming langauge. There is no doubt DW is great piece of tool however there is no need of it to learn HTML/CSS. "Helppp dreamweaver" - issue mentioned has nothing to do with DW. It's more of understanding HTML elements and use them. As my dear friend "ApocalypseXL" rightly pointed out "As for HTML/CSS they are extremely easy to learn" ; it is more important to learn the tags and use them semantically.
