i bought my new blog at www.ipower.com . if my hosting server gets crashed and if i lost my data then what to do?

 

do i have to back up the database in order to save the blog design,data?

 

Have you contacted the host? I want to beleive the host performs routine backups, so the database and web files should be okay. Give their support a call.

From your side, you should not have to do anything. If you would like to backup both the database and site yourself, just in case you can do so. Export the database structure and data to a .sql file and then FTP to the site and copy the files to your local drive. Then you can archive to another drive, CD, DVD, etc. However, you will need to backup frequently; else you will lose any data or site changes since the initial backup. I backup my sites frequently too. Good luck.
