Hey, im at work at the moment, and a client has asked me to send them a document of examples of what fonts i used, colours to suit there branding etc.

Does anyone know exactly what this is called? and how to go about making on.

    Examples would be nice.

    Cheers

Sounds like they are asking for high level initial concepts - if you have secured the contract then do them and send them off, if you are still in the tenure process then there is a risk they will take your ideas and get someone else to develop them into the final product.

There is no real "template" for this type of design work.... you could box up ideas and put feedback "what I like" "what i dont like" + rank against each one but to be honest when I have seen these on forms sent to me I felt they were fairly amateurish

Just make a few, with some watermarks. Dont tell them the fonts, screw that, sounds like theyll rip your idea's. Either have them sign a contract, or watermark, copyright all your work, and hold your valuable information. Just tell them 'you' designed that font. If they really want you to design, theyll be like, okay cool. If not, theyll keep asking what fonts are they specifically....from their you should get a feel of what they 'really' want. Hope you dont get burned, I got burned 2 weeks ago for a full graphic logo :(...I did repo their domain though...
