I have recently had my site built in a CMS, the site is www.algarverentalapartments.com. I was impressed by the CMS as it produced seo friendly urls and you could have seperate seo details for all pages. It does great in msn, yahoo etc but google just doesnt seem to dig into it (though i know a the moment the sitemap isnt working)! Could anyone do either of the following: - tell us why the cms is performing so badly and suggest alterations (so far i know the js files etc arent helping - offer a cost effective (we are in new zealand so struggle in US dollars) alternative
Hi (Neil is it?) My husband went to Nayland and there are a few kiwis who hang out here. Google may be objecting to the hidden text on pages such as http://www.algarverentalapartments.com/Algarve-rental-Apartments.html Mostly it'll be objecting to the dreadful DHTML on the page which is confusing to say the least. They use styles (which aren't cached into a separate file) and then have onpage styles as well. That's ok within limits but it's code gone made. And all that javascript - it's not just that it's not a separate file, it's the way it's used! Google is smart but why make it harder than it needs to be? The NZ PHP User Group will be able to put you in touch with a local developer who can help sort this out.
not quite hidden but close enough to be spammy. If I was google I wouldn't approve. I wouldn't be happy as a user, or as a site owner. But that's just my opinion.
yeh i thought it might be borderline, do you think i should change the colour to make it more contrast?
It doesn't fit on the page so get rid of it. find some other way of loading up the keywords. Or put it down the bottom as a footer, but it screws up the page IMO
i was basing it on another site i worked on which dominates all the search engines in new zealand - www.tourism.net.nz what do you think of theirs thanks for all the feedback
