To begin with, you may design it for lower resolutions like 1024*768 to avoid horizontal scrolling.

I think your thumbnail is too big, you can considered to make to 80x80 tumbnail size, just my opinion....

 

The template looks old and the layout,design and color schemes are not much impressive.The header image is simple and need to avoid the horizontal scrolling bar..
