ok so im moving host i have my wordpress sql file how do i go about importing this do i need to install basic wordpress first?? i now host with godaddy
I don't recommend wordpress sql import. The best way is import posts, comments, custom fields, pages, and categories from a WordPress export file. Guildlines: 1. Login to your existing admin panel 2. Click on manage/export/ and save the XML file to your pc 3. Download the same version of your existing blog from http://wordpress.org/download/release-archive/ and install it to your new host 4. Login to your new installed blog admin panel and click on manage/import, then choose "wordpress". 5. Upgrade your blog to the latest version and all done. Hope this help.
Thanx unfortunately my old hosting has been canceled so i cannot login to the site any other suggestions?
What version of WordPress did you have before? I'd get the version from zinruss' link above, upload the files, create and import the database, and configure the db details in wp-config.php.
Boy oh boy! Quite a hassle mr. dylan? Lol. Don't worry cause we gotcha! Follow this guide and enjoy http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/restore/ any further query, I'm simply a pm away. I know how painful it is to change hosts, so I'm standing beside ya in this one. Lol. Anyway I'm sure the tutorial will be enough though
What do you need ? All posts from Blogspot to your wordpress blog or simply the RSS feeds to your wordpress blog. Both are possible.
