Please can somebody help? I don't know anything about website design so not really sure how to explain my question properly but here goes. My website is www.utopiawaste.co.uk. When you type this in, it redirects to the homepage which is utopiawaste.co.uk/content/utopia-waste-management-home.aspx

Does this cause any problems with regards to seo? If it does is there anything I should get done differently. I have heard people talk about 301 redirects and things but not really sure if this is at all relevant. I am currently building links to the website, submitting articles, etc. so want to make sure my efforts aren't going to waste.

I hope the above makes some sense and that maybe by looking at the website somebody will know what I am trying to ask about.

why don't you just make your homepage @ http://utopiawaste.co.uk

    instead of that other thing..

I don't think it will affect you in seo, but I find it odd

kindof like how http://microsoft.com redirects you to some long ass url

It's a good start. I would make your header the same width as your content table (the header's a bit smaller). Also for the recycling sign, I would replace it with a new, more smooth one that's only white (there's a custom shape for it on photoshop)
