Help with verifying that ads are displayed in the US

    Hi,

I just set up my ad server to use geotargeting and display yahoo ads for visitors located in the US.
Can anyone living in the US do a test for me? Can you see if Yahoo Publisher ads are being displayed on this page: http://www.project4hire.com/web-development-promotion-projects.html
Keep hitting reload for a few times and see if Yahoo ads show up.

    Thanks

    ablaye,

I get a yahoo ad about once every 3-4 refreshes in the header. It seems that the weight of google is set higher than yahoo.

    I'm in the USA.

Six reloads resulted in 4 Yahoo ads and 2 Google ads.

    Ablaye,

You can setup your browser with some of these public proxy servers to check if your experiment is working properly. Just pick a server in the country you are testing.

    http://www.publicproxyservers.com/page1.html

I use firefox and it it like tools >> options >> general >> conenctions

Not sure if this helps but I've had some script running on my wordpress blog for a while that uses the IP to Country database file and some php code to display adsense to non US and yahoo to US viewers. (I also use a wordpress plugin but you don't need to if you know how to query mySQL or .csv files.)

I actually just wrote about it today in tutorial format here http://www.erikvossman.com/2006/10/05/saving-your-yahoo-publisher-network-ypn-account-from-being-banned/
(sorry it's not a live link, I don't have cool person status yet) but I've been using it for a while, just too lazy to write about it.

Hope that might help, it has worked about 95% of the time for me (only checked with a few international people.)
    :)
    Aloha
