    I just moved to new VPS (transfered all data), but don't know how to manage DNS nameservers. Here is table in WHM:

    Home »DNS Functions »Edit DNS Zone
    nameservers.png

    Will DNS work with such settings?
    ns1.domain.com
    ns2.domain.com

    I tried to update them at domain registrar, but it gave me an error:
    Domain nameservers Failed to Update: {ns2=NameServer ns2.domain.net is not a valid Nameserver, ns1=NameServer ns1.domain.net is not a valid Nameserver}

    have you than added them in the server config>basic cPanel &WHM set up and assigned them there own IP address? have you than created the custom name servers at the register?

    edit: Oh and those settings look fine expet you need your own name servers in there eg. ns1.yourdomain.com

    Hello there,

    You need to create an "A" record for each name server you are using, and point them back to the proper IP address. You should then be able to add the name servers in at your registrar.

    Regards,
    Chris

    First of all, set the ip addresses for your DNS and add A entries for these DNS in Basic WHM setup section. After this your DNS will appear in etc/nameserverips. As soon as you register the DNS from the side of the server, you can register them from the side of the registrar and set for your domain from the side of the registrar.Then wait for 2-24 hours and the dns will be successfully registered.
