I recently sold a digital program to a person online. I gave support to this person over the course of a few days to help him use the software and its features. After about a couple of weeks, this person decided to file two unauthorized transaction claims on my PayPal account. One for each transaction. I'm going to assume that he's trying to get something for nothing. Here are the claim details for both transactions: Transaction ID: 3xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxT Buyer Name: Simon Mxxxxx Buyer Email: xxxxxx@aol.com Transaction Amount: $69.99 USD Transaction Date: Nov. 8, 2007 PayPal Case ID: PP-3xx-7xx-7xx Reason for Dispute: Unauthorized Date of Complaint: Nov. 26, 2007 Status: Waiting For Seller's Response Status Details: The buyer has filed a claim stating this transaction was made without the account holder’s knowledge or consent. PayPal states that I need to ship to the buyer's confirmed address in order to be protected under "PayPal's Seller Protection Policy". I would just attempt to send some type of invoice/receipt to the confirmed address, but their confirmed address is in the United Kingdom. How can I go about getting rid of these false claims against me? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
sir i believe you been scammed like me... i was scammed badly few weeks ago and 5 people claim chargeback from me at the same day and i lost a huge amount of money as chargeback fees.... your lucky that you didnot lost money for chargeback because chargeback fees can be from $15 to $30 usd for one transaction... so dont use paypal to sell softwares.... use xoom marchent acc. if you dont want to lose money.... because at paypal a reversal can be made even after one year....
Forget about the money! You have almost no chance to get back anything as it is a digital delivered thing and nothing trackable. Sorry to say this
Yeah you don't have much of any option really. This is one benefit to using a merchant account, at least you would have received a chargeback letter with an opportunity to dispute the charge... Unfortunately Paypal isn't nearly as good in helping their merchants protect themselves as a merchant account processor.
This is a lost case.. I have had such cases before myself, and seen hundreds of members on my forum report stories like yours.. There is noway you can get your money back, unless you have sent a physical item. Sorry for your loss. DL
