Hi, i have recently set up a website - but no one seems to go there!, i have tried everything. Search engine submissions, message boards, all kinds of software, and still no one comes! I found this small site today http://trafikk.noan.net/?swiftbid At first i thought it must be rubbish, but when i though a bit more, it started to make sense. Can someone tell me if this sort of thing works? It seems so simple, but i dont want to waste my time on it for nothing. Thanks.
Just get link exchanges and write content. That is the secret of getting traffic. Stop listening to all these scam websites and companies that promise you "easy" solutions to getting traffic. Look, there is not easy way of getting traffic. Just like everything in this world that is worthwhile, you have to work your ass off in order to get it. I've worked hard for two years to build my sites, and those fly by night traffic schemes don't work. Content and links, content and links.
Thanks, but if you worked your ass off to build the traffic up to your site, then i need to know *how* you "worked you ass off" I am completely stuck.. Anyone got any ideas that will start things rolling? Thanks.
YOu can start by adding backlinks from this thread" http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=57484 You can pay for traffic thru this link: https://adwords.google.com/select/?hl=en_US&sourceid=awo&subid=us-et-aslogout
That Google 'AdWords' thing seems promising, as long as i dont get stung with a huge bill - cheers for that, and please keep the suggestions coming in!
Hi, Here are the list of free web directories to submit your new site to. Hope you find them helpful. http://www.seocompany.ca/directory/f...rectories.html http://www.best-web-directories.com/...irectories.htm http://www.4th-media.com/directories/ http://hitslog.com/submission_list/ http://www.isedb.com/html/Web_Direct...l_Directories/ http://www.directorylist.org/topic/2.html
Not entirely true. I could tell you a 2 hour story about traffic equalizer and how you could effortlessly make $10,000/month off it in 2003 with less than 5 sites. I think what you meant was there's no way of getting "steady traffic" that lasts a long time without working very hard for it.
There are certainly fly-by-night stories that get huge traffic all at once if that's what you mean, Yo Yo. I have heard many stories of sites or blogs that make the offline news due to some kind of publicity blitz, and become instant successes as they get a huge traffic spike -- but it rarely lasts without a way to maintain those visitors, and the above mentioned points.
Directories are crap. Search engines panalize some of them as link farm and no PR is passed since there are too many outbound links. ALso, you dont get any actual traffic from them. Thirdly, actually getting listed in the directory is like pulling teeth since you sign up and put a link to the directory on your site and never hear back from the directory cause the webmaster is MIA. Forth, your site may not even get picked up from the directory since your page may be very very very deep where the spider wont get to it. I have found that the best way to get traffic is through very well targeted PPC and search engines. Engines take time but it is worth it. Excvhange links with reputable sites.. Not directories. And purchase permenant one way prominent links to high traffic relavant sites. That way google and yahoo and MSN will index your page sooner. Don't get linked from a 'link page' . Demand a link on the index page where the spiders will see it.
Don't waste your time and money on sites that promise to send traffic or send hits. I searched for the site you mentioned and was told the site was currently not available. Not a good sign. Save your money and use it on a PPC campaign which will get targeted traffic as quick as most things out there. Just make sure you know what you are doing first so you don't lose your shirt through ad costs.
It works like a boomerang.... you need to visit the high traffic site to bring back some traffic to your site......
I would try and increase its Search Engine Position by increasing the number of incoming links to your website and frequently updating your website with new content. You should see a rise in your SER within a couple of weeks and you will be getting some free traffic from Google's Search Results.
