So Im trying to figure out why my homepage for http://www.epicwallpaper.com has taken ANOTHER dive into supplemental results. Some interesting facts: -The first time it happened It re-appeared in the index 5 days later and my keyword rankings were better than before it happened. -My homepage was ranking between pages 1-12 on MANY high traffic keywords -I have 57,000+ In links and mostly all to my homepage. -All the sites I'm linking to appear to be indexed very well in google also. -If I do site:epicwallpaper.com I have over 20,000 pages indexed but my homepage is at the VERY end of all pages. So, does anyone have any clue why this has happened for a 2nd time?
One thing I notice right away is that you link to certain websites on every page of your site. The 'best sites' appear to be your own websites. The search engines tend to not like excessive cross linking between your own websites. Also when you link to so many other websites, it's far too easy for one of those websites to be considered a bad neighborhood. Your 'top wallpaper sites' section could be considered spam too. Google hates to see websites telling other webmasters what anchor text to use to link to them.
I have been suspicious of that, however every single wallpaper site from pages 1 to 50 do the exact same thing only they have even more links! The best sites are actually friends of mine, only one of them is on the same hosting. I will try removing a bunch of links and see if there is any change.
My site does not fall into supplemental...Its my homepage. I still have dozens of other pages ranking well on google.
Removing a bunch of links will only help if those are bad neighborhood links. The fact that some of these sites has nudity may be an issue. Since it is only your homepage being affected, perhaps you have a duplicate content issue with the homepage. I notice that if you type your url without the www it still shows the same page without redirecting to the www version. Both versions may have been indexed by Google. You should try setting up a redirect from non www to the www version.
Hi. Sorry for refreshing this topic but I can't find any details about it. Is a command /* the only one to check pages that are in the main index? I've got some doubts whether it shows us what we want to check.
