Help with SMF

I am running a SMF forum and the only thing I don’t like about it is the fact that soon after posting a post/topic, it takes me back to the category in which the topic was posted, instead of bringing me back to the topic. Does any one know how I can fix this?

 

oh that's quite easy you need to modify your personal layout configurations

when you are logged in click on Profile link then Look and Layout Preferences

Then just check on - Return to topics after posting by default.

I want to ensure this is the default option for all the users, how do it do that?

 

Use the reset options feature in admin > current theme > reset options. It's all documented at the SMF site in the online manual if you have a read.

 

What good would that do?

I mean the setting Plot said is for my user id and not for every one, then how will resetting the theme help?

 

Because you want to reset theme options, thing such as where you are redirected to after posting are theme options in SMF so follow the link trail I gave you and you will end up on a screen that says

 

But how do I change the default redirect option in the first place? This thing is only useful when I set every one to being redirected to post pages!

 

CLICK ON ADMIN, CLICK ON CURRENT THEME, CLICK ON RESET OPTIONS.
