I bought a truck from a guy, and he owed a restitution to the county so I could not register the truck, I ended up paying off the lien myself, and I am going to take him to small claims court. I was not sure what all I could sue him for, him trying to scam me and me not being able to register the truck has caused me a lot of financial problems. I want to sue him for the cost of the temporary registrations I purchased, the amount of the lien, and some sort of "pain and suffering" money for the problems he has caused, but I am not sure what the proper legal ling would be? Thanks!
I am not a lawyer, and as such I will not give you any legal advice. What I will advise is that you seek out and talk to a real lawyer to get answers to these questions, that way you have the correct answers and someone to hold responsible for any misnformation.
Why would I need to contact a lawyer? This is for small claims court, I am representing myself, I just need to know the legal lingo, I am not paying some guy $100.
