Help with sitemap submission

Guys - I am totally new to the sitemap generation and submission.

I have created a site map xml file using this tool www.xml-sitemaps.com, now I have my sitemap file sitemap.xml.

So the next step is upload it in my server and then go to this link https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/siteoverview?

And then add the url as in www.mydomain.com/sitemap.xml???

You are right, but you can also try the free online sitemap generator which is available on my websites.

It's much more simple, and can generate sitemap file for big sites.

I have a follow up question, when I generated my sitemap using this tool www.xml-sitemaps.com, I looked at the xml sitemap script and it only has few lines in it, it does not list all my url pages, is this OK? for the people who have used it, do you get the same thing?.

Probably there is not much content in your site?
The free tool on it could generate max 500 pages.
