I think that was my problem. I didn't bump my payment until the last minute(literally) to show the google image upload link and you probably have to do that a day or two ahead of time.
ME: Hi again, nevetS! Yes, if you go for the Google Image option, you'll only need to have it cleared by PRWeb to get it uploaded (since it's considered an attachment). I try to have things up by ~9PM to get it on the wire by midnight, and I am always able to achieve that. They've recently upped internal staff to handle faster turn on press, and also better handle 24/7 client support. One more SEO element for you: If you can get the PR in a few days early, PRWeb's Inktomi feed begins pickup and distribution to their channel partners, getting you links before you're actually published (I read in the WebMasterWorld forum that Google will spider your site from an Inktomi feed even if your links go nowhere. It then re-samples those links within the month to ensure you're "real". I tried that with www.trikke12.com and saw immediate results). Hope that's helpful! And it's really spectacular to have your image on Google News. It gets a LOT of pickups early, and that makes a big difference in the shear number of distribution points during the most active 24-hours following your release. Have an awesome week, and I hope your 4th was great. Best, ME
For downloadable PDF's, do I have to create those and attach them as files, or does PRWeb create them?
No you have to create any of the attachments that you add. I have a full version of Acrobat so I am not sure of what else you can use.
Oh wow. I just finished my release last night at 3:30 AM and received a 5 after reading through all the posts in this thread. Thanks for this valuable resource guys!
For those that have used PRWeb.com, what can I expect from traffic from a top 5 position? And the top position?
Traffic-wise, do not expect much. People will read the article, but unless you have a very good reason to click through to your site within the article, people won't click through to your site.
I'll agree with that. My release had the following stats: And clickthroughs were negligible. Its not about clickthroughs from the release.
Yeah, for the last 9 hours since the release has been live at the number 1 spot I haven't noticed any major traffic coming in. My stats currently are: So have you guys noticed any move in SERPS or any traffic increases from other places?
That was a great press release Infiniterb. Good enough to read through to completion for a site announcement release, which is saying a lot for someone with MY attention span. I also just noticed their AJAX Preview Press Release thing. That's pretty cool. Here's a pretty interesting piece of info for your site. Maybe you can research it a little... If you are married you don't pay the under 25 penalty. At least that's the case for women under 25 with Farmers. When we asked our agent what we could do to get our rates down, she basically told my wife and I to hurry up and get married. I don't know if that's industry standard or not and I don't know if it applies to men too. (I was over 25 at the time).
also... I found this info from my blog: The whole thing is here I'll be interested in hearing from you to see if your stats are comparable to mine or much higher since you did it on Tuesday (versus my weekend release). To date my stats are: Reads 270,514 Estimated Pickup 1,385 Prints 18 Forwards 0 PDF Downloads 81 Another interesting quote... Searching for my release today (3 months later) I see 58 in google, 50 in msn, and 250 in yahoo. Those numbers were over 1000 for msn and yahoo a few days after the release I believe, but showing 50+ now means that a lot of those pages are probably static.
Here are the stats as of 10 PM PDT Reads 55,356 Estimated Pickup 530 Prints 4 Forwards 0 PDF Downloads 19 Traffic stands about the same as yesterday (before the release). I'll check SEBots tomorrow morning at work. As far as the Car Insurance info, I'll make sure to take a look tomorrow. And thanks about the comments. That's my first Press Release ever and I got a 5 on it (wrote it at 3 AM no less). I was pretty stoked about it.
And the final stats for the first 24 hour period are: Reads 57,310 Estimated Pickup 568 Prints 4 Forwards 0 PDF Downloads 20 Uniques increased by about 100 today, though I can't really guage whether it was because of links being clicked, or because of the fact there is an iframe at the bottom of the PR with the site in it.
Iframe thing? I have no idea what you guys are talking about! Can someone describe in more detail what you guys are talking about? AmCy
Scroll to the bottom at: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2005/7/prweb262205.htm I've seen a few other releases that have it now, but definitely not all of them.
Ahhh...I see it on the release you just sent me, but I don't see it on any of my releases. So how is it that you guys can see it on my releases and I can't . I cleared my workstation and proxy server caches and reloaded my releases, but I still don't see it on my releases. Hmmmm.... AmCy
2 of my releases have debuted with a PR of 5. I'm very happy about this as I was expecting PR4 at best. I think it may have to do with the fact that I linked back to each of my PRWeb.com releases from each release's corresponding website. Just some FYI for you folks in case you want to try this technique. AmCy
