Help with PHP BB forum

    Hi eveyone

    I need help with getting spammers off my forum... I have just installed the New PHPbb will this help ?

    I have 2.0 before.

    It seems like from what I have read in this forum most people that have PHPBB vesus V-Bulletin have the trouble.

    Is there anything I can do ?

    Are you using 2.0.22 or 3?

    If you are using 2.0.22 then check out www.lithiumstudios.org for their anti spam acp.

    ps. the site isnt working right now, so check it at a later stage or check out various captcha mods at phpbb.com

    Well using a modification that makes them fill out a field like

    What games do you play:

    Game 1
    2
    3
    None

    and make it so they have to answer it, stops bot's all together.

    I have always had trouble with spammers and phpbb, no problems ever with SMF. The only way I was able to stop the phpbb spammers was by adding a unique question to the registration field. I tried one mod but it was a standard question that the bots already figured out so I just customized the question and have not had any problems since.
