Help with organizing my site.

I am going to be setting up a big website with alot of different blogs, and sites.
My questions is this.
What is the best way for good internal linking strategies and on and off page seo.
Like for example if one of the sites was going to be about mortage loans.
which way would be better ?
1.) mortageloans.domainname.com or
2.)domainname.com/mortageloans

If you could give me some info that would be great thank you.

 

If yous plan to make many websites and blogs. The second option is accurate to name your domain.

A sub directory makes life easier to setup. But the sub domain has its advantages on seo.

 

It really depends on the content of that particular URL.. If it's related to your main domain content make it a sub directory other wise go for sub domains at it could be treated as a different website in whole
