I think you would have to rely on backlinks more than a website with html content. Technically you can rank well with any page even if the keyword isn't on the page. Just work at regularly building quality links from multiple sources. It may be worth adding some html articles on your website somewhere just to give the search engines a hint as to what your website is about. Also ensure you write excellent page titles and meta descriptions. You should probably have noscript alternate content for pages that only have flash content.
Use SWFObject and embed a transcript of the flash file on to the page. No one here seems to ever know about it, but I promise it works. I've used it dozens of times with tremendous success.
and you simply just do this without implementing numerous backlinks or other marketing? hmm, never heard, but most definitely interested! thank you, thank you.. all things I've been needing to know!
No, I still do link building but don't let people her convince you that all hope is lost with a flash site.
No, it isn't and you really shouldn't be giving advice like this if you don't know what you're talking about.
My best advice is to build a seperate html version that mimicks the flash site. This may require a decent amount of time, but in the end the two main components to ranking a website are links and content. Yes, your flash site can appear without any content at the top of the Google search results with enough links, but it will take far fewer if you also have pages with content.
well the flash websites are optimized the same way as the otehr websites are.... its not the case iof with the flash website now whcih was before...........google has updated their crawler and now they can easdily crawal the flash websites and ranking them easily...
So, what happens if you have external content in xml files? or does the content need to be in the flash file? does google read action script?
