Maybe you can do something like what 4shared is doing. Sounds like a good domain for file sharing sites.
for links... many options, but one of them - write few subtile PR articles about your site - rely on some topic and include your links in them, then submit articles to some relevant sites (such as enzinearticles.com for example... )
