I am sellnig a product that has been getting me about 5 sales a day and about 50-80 visits. Well, my product sales have gone down DRASTICALLY with the entrance of some big players who are outbidding me... But I think there is more to the case. I see I still get many clicks, and my CTR is about 5%. Yet I am not getting any sales. Could a competitor be clicking my ads on purpose? How can I tell? Does google track IPs and not allow charges to happen after one click, etc? Any tips on how to get to the top of a the ad-list without paying a lot? I feel my quality score is good. BTW, how can I check my quality score?
if that happens the clicks will show in the report, but if goggle detects invalid clicks, you get refunded. i have gotten refunded on clicks on search.
Maybe also adsense publisher competitors clicks each other's ads. Too bad ideas to get rid of there competitors from the same business.
One thing to think about if you are really concerned is that google gives you an option to stop your ads appearing based on ip or location - if you can determine the location of your biggest competitors (where they are dialing in from) you can ask google not to show your ads from everyone at that location. It obviously cuts down on the market - so would have to be based on a commercial decision - but would have the advantage of minimising any threats from what you discuss - and also allow you to travel under the radar - they would not be aware that you are bidding in the same space unless they tried searching from a different point.
