Help with (MSN) Windows Live Messenger contact list

I recently deleted all my hotmail address book contacts (from www.hotmail.com - I had backed up my contact list in messenger before hand) in attempt to get rid of all the contacts that have piled up over the years, and the ones that I had deleted from my MSN contact list.

Now, when i sign into Windows Live Messenger, it shows all my contacts as offline, and deletes them slowly, one by one. This happens each time i sign into messenger or re-populate my list with my backup.

MSN Messenger 7.5 seems to work fine.

Anyone have any idea what could be wrong or how to fix this?

Deletes them slowly, one by way? I have no idea, but it sounds like something you should investigate further then DP. A virus or trojan maybe?

I think contacting MSN support would do better than ask us whats wrong with their software ;p
