Help with moving to a new server

I have been renting a VPS with godaddy to host my sites. I just realized that it is a lot more power than I actually need so I created an account with another hosting provider. I plan to keep my domain registrations at godaddy.

Here is what I did in my godaddy domain control panel

    I created two new hosts:
    NS1.MYDOMAIN.COM
    NS2.MYDOMAIN.COM

Both of these point to the ip addresses that my new provider gave me as nameservers.

I then went to the nameserver section of my godaddy account and entered these two hosts as the nameservers for this domain.

On the side of my new host, I created what was called an addon domain in my cpanel and put in my domain name.

Is this all I need to do?

    Am I missing something?

Seems like I can't get it to work.

    Thanks

    Carl

what sort of account are you moving to, shared, reseller?, if its shared your new host will have provided new nameservers for you, if its a reseller, you will either have private nameservers or a generic set, if it's private create them on godaddy and point your domains to them, then go into whm or whatever reseller you have and create a new hosting account with the domains you want to host, setting space, bandwidth etc...using the ftp/cpanel details of the new accounts uploading your content after 24 - 48 hours your nameservers should be fully propogated and you can cancel your vps..

**EDIT** you need the ip.s of the 2 nameservers and create them in godaddy

What is the domain in question?

Are you sure the nameservers have been registered?

    Full propagation has taken place?

Shoot me over your domain name and I will see if it replies. with the old or new server.

Sometimes it can take up to 72 hours for full prop... but usually is done rather quickly
