What Do you Really mean by Migrate?

    Do you mean Upgrading it??

And doesnt it provide automatic Upgradation? and Are you sure there are updated versions which are supplimentary to each other so things would work perfectly?

To move from joomla 1.0.x to joomla 1.5.x is not a upgrade it is a migrate

    Ref: http://docs.joomla.org/Migrating_from_1.0.x_to_1.5_Stable

In this case what is most needed for me is migrating the component seyret from 2.8.5 which is no more supported by the developper to the new seyret 0.3.x
