Hello Friends, I need help regarding the low CTR of my adsense ads.

Its been around 1 month since I put adsense on my sites-

    Free Web Hosting &
    Free Lyrics

Though the sites recieves good amount of traffic and has lots of pages but still I only managed to accumulate $1.28. :(

I've chosen few good and high paying keywords as well. Still my CTR is pretty low.

Please give me some suggestions on how can I improve my earnings.

    Thanks in advance.

Try putting your adsense above the fold and center or best wrap it in within the content of your article just like you see in ezinearticles.com article pages.

    Cheers!

I had the same problem and I just switched elsewhere. I had made under $8 in 2 months with adsense, yet so far have made $5 in the first 2 days with ADSDAQ. It might not be the best option for you, but you may want to consider looking elsewhere.

You need to find high paying adsense keywords and niches to work with.

Finding high paying keywords won't really help you improve your CTR. And if your CTR is terrible it really won't help you make much more money anyways.

I saw your first site. I only see one link unit ?

I suggest you put some more ads. Try putting 336*280 ad unit at the top.

Any reason, for putting only one link unit?

Personally, I wouldn't expect much from a lyrics site. People come to those sites to find lyrics for a song. You put the lyrics there = you solved their problem, and off they go. Forget about reasonable CTR there. You could plaster AdSense on their retina and they still wouldn't click it.

is true , another design but also i think you should use another way to monetize the free hosting site together with adsense

Hosting site is down maybe that hurts more than you think. Try making ads with blue links sometimes people do not know they are links.

the clicks are low for hosting and lyric sites ...try wrapping the ad units around the content...play around with teh adunits , url colours formats etc.

I'll probably piss people off with this post, but oh well...

First, everybody has a different opinion on ad placement, number of adblocks, etc., but I think less is more. I've had the most success with a clean page with one or 2 big rectangular adblocks on it. When I go to a site and see 5 adblocks, a google search-box, and inline ads, I just close the page without looking at it. I'm not trying to diss your page, I'm just telling you what my reaction is to such pages. I'm sure there are good pages out there with valuable content that use templates with a lot of ads, but to me it just looks spammy.

Second, use your content. You want a higher click-thru rate, right? Well, you obviously can't say, "Click my ads", but you can tell them the advantages of free hosting and encourage them to investigate all their options. If your content is interesting and you convince the people to look further into the subject, then they see your ads for whatever subject you've just convinced them to investigate, what do you think they're going to do? Also, this is good for google and the advertisers, because you've gotten someone interested in the content (in this case, free hosting) and gotten them to click the ad. This is why they advertise. win-win-win!!

I started a site in mid-march. I did no on-page seo, and didn't research keywords. Just really wanted to park the domain with a possibility of making a little money off it. I wrote about 10 pages of content and submitted 4 articles at ezinearticles. This page has had ZERO traffic from google (or any other search engine) the only traffic besides myself that has hit the page has come from those 4 articles. It only gets about 5 uniques a week. This site has made $30 in adsense so far. It's on a free hosting server, so there are no costs (besides the domain registration). The site I'm talking about pretty much sucks, but it's on pace to make $400/year if I don't do anything else to it.

I'm not a guru. There are people who know much more about adsense than I do. I will say, though, that I have 5 sites up and running (I started in January). All of these sites have a CTR of %15-%30 lifetime.

A lot of people here will tell you to throw more traffic at the site and not worry about your CTR, but I'd rather make good, automatic money off a little good traffic than spend all my time looking for more ways to send more traffic to a site that doesn't turn that traffic into money.

You need to keep adding content and try to increase traffic. The layout for your ads are perfect.
