    Hi

I was told by a friend that someone can post in my forum with a image tag linking to a fake image that .htaccess 301 redirects to an .exe file that contains a trojan/virus. Is that even possible? I am thinking about disabling image tags if this is true. Any info will be helpful. Thanks

I believe they're referring to html image tags, not bbcode [img] tags, never allow html in posts.

The only case I have ever heard of image files causing security threats is this sophos.com/pressoffice/news/articles/2002/06/va_perrun.html but this was back in 2002. If there was such a big threat caused by [IMG]
