    Which one do you mean?
    https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
    http://www.google.com/sktool/#

One will show you search volumes and estimated traffic....though not really accurate to the dot. The other will analyze your site and give you ideas for PPC keywords based on actual search queries...Not sure what you mean when you say how to use it...they are both self explanatory. If you need help with keyword research, that is a dif. topic in which you would use one of these tools to help with. I suggest Googling "keyword research guides" or something along those lines to find a resource to help with that.

here is how you should use the google keyword estimation tool:

    1) let say you own a restaurant in new york and you want to find some keywords to target, then you use this

    https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

let's say that tool returns 3 main results:

    new york restaurants
    restaurants in new york
    best new york restaurants

the next step is to estimate the traffic that those 3 keywords can send you, to do that, you take for example your first keyword : new york restaurants, and go here:

    https://adwords.google.com/select/TrafficEstimatorSandbox

type your keyword inside the box between [ ], don't use quotes, if you use quotes google will return some broad results, it will count every possible keyword combination that contains "new york restaurants" this is not what you want, so use [new york restaurants]

now you will see how many adwords clicks you can get for this keyword, take that number and multiply it by 20 to have a real idea about the amount of traffic that you will get from natural search (because google estimates that 5% of it's users will click on the adword ads).

now do this again for all your main targeted keywords and you will get an idea about the global traffic that you should get, of course to get that traffic you need to achieve top rankings first.

    good luck

Another good tip, once you have your list of keywords you think you want to use.

Throw them into an adgroup, and set the campaign to stop after a day or two.

Then you will have good data regarding what terms actually get searched and you wont have to rely on estimates.

through google adword, u can search keywords in 2 way, one u enter 1 keyword related to your business, google give n number of keywords which people search relate to that term and second google adword allow u to enter your url, so they fetch keywords of your site and give you the keywords.
